The Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority (NCTTCA) reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusive trade, sustainability, and private sector development at the 3rd Juba Economic Forum, held from May 13–15, 2025, at the Central Bank of South Sudan Convention Centre. The event was hosted by the Central Equatoria Business Union (CEBU) under the theme: “Promoting Commercial Agriculture as a Pathway Towards Economic Stability.”
Representing the NCTTCA Secretariat, Deputy Director for Private Sector Investment Promotion, Cezzy Kanionga , participated in panel discussions addressing South Sudan’s role in regional trade and the advancement of the African Green Economy agenda. Speaking on NCTTCA’s role, he stated: “Our participation in the Juja Economic Forum reinforces NCTTCA’s commitment to fostering inclusive trade, sustainability, and private sector development in the region.”
The forum provided a platform for discussions on:
- Sustainability Initiatives: Highlighting the Northern Corridor Green Freight Programme and Roadside Stations, which promote environmental sustainability and the welfare of communities along transport routes.
- Empowerment: Advocating for the inclusion of women and youth in cross-border trade.
- Trade Facilitation: Urging governments to fast-track reforms to support small-scale traders.
Additionally, the NCTTCA showcased its 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗹 through live demonstrations and a plenary presentation. The platform, designed to improve access to trade and agricultural market information, was lauded by attendees for its potential to enhance regional economic integration.
The 3rd Juba Economic Forum concluded with the adoption of approximately 40 resolutions aimed at strengthening South Sudan’s agriculture sector and its role in regional trade.
