As the backbone of regional trade and connectivity, the Northern Corridor Transit and Transport Coordination Authority continues to champion sustainable transport solutions across its 13,000 km multimodal network that links the Port of Mombasa to the Great Lakes Region. Every day, the Corridor facilitates the movement of nearly 75,000 tons of freight, reinforcing its critical role in driving economic growth while advancing climate-conscious transport systems.
Through the Green Freight Strategy 2030, the Northern Corridor is accelerating efforts to reduce freight emissions, improve fuel efficiency, and build resilient transport infrastructure for the future. With ongoing initiatives such as the Electrification Readiness Study, eco-driving and fleet management trainings, and support for electric freight transport infrastructure, the Corridor is steadily positioning itself as a leader in green mobility in Africa.
